We’re pleased and proud to announce that 2018 was the best year yet for Boss Cabins. Despite the looming spectre of Brexit, the market has remained remarkably buoyant and sales of our mobile and static welfare cabins and our secure Tool Space units all increased substantially.
New innovations
Our improved performance was driven in part by the introduction of several ground-breaking product innovations. First, we were granted a patent on our revolutionary Red Box Infinity generator which offers service intervals eight times longer than the industry standard.
In addition, we launched an unprecedented 5 year warranty on the Red Box Infinity’s engine and alternator when used in combination with our Eco Ultimate electrical system. The patent application for this energy-saving Eco Ultimate Intelligent Load Management System was also accepted in 2018 and our test results show that it is currently the most fuel-efficient electrical system on the market.
We also introduced our Gold Standard Electrics, a certification scheme which ensures all our cabins comply with and even exceed relevant EU and UK legislation.
Eco-friendly toilet launch
During 2018, we made a move into the portable toilet market with a completely new product range – Toilet Space. Featuring 2-person and 4-person self-contained static units and a 14ft mobile version, the Toilet Space brings a new level of comfort to the worksite toilet market as well as being engineered to have a minimal environmental impact with ground-breaking patent-pending water-saving technology and maximum energy efficiency combining solar panels with Boss’s patented Eco Ultimate electrical system. With production commencing in the second quarter of 2018, by the end of the year we had already sold in excess of 100 units with a significant amount from other customers specifically from customers who are tendering for HS2-related contracts.
Mobile refrigeration
Another new product was Chillbox, our 14ft or 24ft high-security mobile refrigeration units suitable for use in a number of markets including events, hospitality and emergency breakdown situations. Aftercare expansion
A sector that has shown huge growth during 2018 is our Aftercare division. In 2017, we invested heavily in a dedicated Service and Parts Centre becoming the first manufacturer to offer repair, refurb and parts for all brands of cabin on the market. This investment has really paid off with many customers turning to us to keep their cabins in top condition and extending the useful life of their welfare fleets.
