We were really pleased to be able to work with Boss Cabins on The Open project this year, with our client the R&A. We are passionate about finding solutions to reducing our emissions activity in all areas of our business, Boss Cabins were also to support our goals through supplying the Deep Green Gen Free Cabin. It was great to see that on the project we avoided just under a tonne of CO2 emissions, saved over 300 litres in fuel, and 100% of electricity was provided through solar power! This is an exciting step on our journey to becoming an even more sustainable business.

These are a very good unit and economical to run. They look and feel professional, well laid out both internally & externally, portraying a good corporate image for us. Cost to hire is a little higher but the cost is offset as you reduce elements such as diesel usage & services required making it not only better for the environment but more cost effective. After our trial of the Deep Green GenFree welfare unit, myself and others on the project are very impressed with how the cabin performed – it’s a really good product. The cabin was used heavily 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on the site with no issues at all. Also, the reporting to highlight the cost savings was a real eye opener – it was great to see how much fuel use and emissions we’d avoided over the period. We were also really surprised with how simple the welfare units were to operate and how problem-free they were. We are used to having cabins with generators on site and to be honest, that’s where all our breakdowns occur – the generator is a real weak point, causing a lot of costly service visits to site to get them fixed. We and our clients love the built-in remote telemetry system. We use it to obtain the most efficient, lowest cost operation from the unit being hired and can also easily produce reports showing customers the environmental benefits of the welfare choices they have made.
