A MESSAGE FROM BOSS CABIN’S MANAGING DIRECTOR MATTHEW WORDSWORTH
As some of you may be aware, Boss Cabins has made the decision to keep its factory and production line open during the current Coronavirus pandemic.
This has been an extremely difficult decision and one we have not taken lightly. In many ways, it would have been much easier to just close the doors and send all our staff home, but after discussion with our customers, we decided this was not morally right. It was clear that the only proper thing to do was to remain open and to support all efforts to keep our country running in this fight against coronavirus and its effects.
Our customers have specifically requested that we continue to manufacture for them. They urgently need our equipment and our support services in this current crisis. Our equipment is being used right now by frontline services such as the NHS and Ministry of Defence as well as other essential industries.
We have cleared the production line of all existing production and are focusing all our resources on producing the cabins needed most rapidly by our customers for their work with essential services. In addition, we have accelerated the launch of our new Sleep Space cabin as these will be used immediately to house key workers and ease pressure on existing facilities in hospitals and other key locations.
As I said before, the decision to remain open was not an easy one to make – the welfare of our staff, suppliers, customers and the general public is of paramount importance to us and we would never want to put anyone at risk. For this reason, we have developed a strict series of Working Procedures covering every aspect of activity in our factory and offices, with the aim of eliminating any risk of infection to anyone working on or entering our premises or having any interaction with Boss Cabins staff on or off site.
These go above and beyond current UK government and WHO advice and include the construction of a purpose-built Sanitisation Centre; home working if feasible; provision of PPE material where appropriate; strict social distancing rules and guidance for personal interaction; daily health checks for all employees; mail/delivery sterilisation; and much more.
Myself and the other directors could not be more proud of the way our staff have responded and stepped up in this crisis. We thank them, as well as our valued suppliers and customers, for all their efforts and for sharing in our determination to stay open and to carry on providing as much support as possible to the essential services at this critical time.
