We are excited to announce that our revolutionary GenFree™ generator-free welfare range has been shortlisted for its fourth prestigious award.
Following its recognition as a finalist in the Ground Engineering Awards, Construction News Awards, and Plantworx Innovation Award, GenFree has now garnered attention in the CN Specialists Awards, in the Product Innovation of the Year category. This remarkable achievement highlights the exceptional ingenuity and inventiveness our engineers have employed designing this generator-free cabin which addresses the pressing issue of moving towards a NET Zero future within the welfare industry.
The Deep Green GenFree™ range of welfare cabins represents a groundbreaking advancement in site welfare solutions. Unlike traditional cabins heavily reliant on diesel generators, the electrics in a GenFree cabin are powered entirely by solar energy, eliminating the need for a backup generator and significantly reducing the carbon footprint usually associated with welfare operations. This patented design not only offers a sustainable and ultra-low emissions alternative but also aligns with Net Zero, ESG, and other sustainability targets.
As well as addressing fuel use and emissions, Boss Cabins engineers adopted a 360º approach to making these cabins as sustainable as possible, encompassing energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, low water consumption, a patented rain harvesting and grey water recycling system, reduced waste, extended service intervals, durable construction, and high end-of-life recyclability.
Despite their eco-friendly features, GenFree units do not compromise on functionality. These cabins provide all the necessary amenities of a standard welfare unit while delivering substantial fuel savings and minimising on-site CO2 emissions. This exceptional efficiency makes them well-suited for use in emission-restricted areas like ULEZ zones. Notably, the only fuel consumed in a GenFree cabin powers the ultra-low emission heater, which requires a mere 0.25 litres of fuel per hour and can be fueled by either diesel or HVO biofuel. Moreover, when heating is not required, GenFree welfare units operate as 100% zero-emission facilities.
One of the remarkable advantages of GenFree cabins is their silent operation, ideal for city centres, residential areas, or any location sensitive to noise pollution. Moreover, the absence of an on-board generator eliminates the need for regular generator servicing and the risk of generator failure, sparing them environmentally damaging, time-consuming, and expensive visits to the cabins.
Thanks to the CN Specialist team for making GenFree a finalist in their Product Innovation of the Year and we look forward to presenting to the full judging panel later in the year.
