Our solar-powered GenFree range has received yet another accolade, this time lifting the prestigious ‘INNOVATION AWARD’ at the recent Showman’s Show.
The Green Supplier Awards recognise innovations that have made a major contribution to lowering environmental impact. One of three companies shortlisted, we were honoured to win the award against some very strong competition. At the show, our MD James Kearsey gave a live presentation and Q&A to the judges who then selected our GenFree range as the winner.
As part of our presentation, James Kearsey described the ways our GenFree fleet across the nation has benefitted the environment over the past year and had a proven effect on lowering emissions and costs. Using real data from the online tracking system, he was able to report that over the past 12 months, replacing traditional diesel welfare cabins on worksite with our solar-powered Generator Free welfare alternatives, has been directly responsible for preventing over 7,275,900 kg of CO2 from being emitted into the atmosphere, reducing fuel consumption by 2,302,500 litres and cutting costs to the end user by £3,684,000 in diesel expenditure*. In addition, an estimated 5,786 generator servicing visits** and 21,285 toilet pump-outs were avoided***, lowering the related Scope 3 emissions of vehicles attending sites and reducing costs by over £3 million more.
After scooping the award and picking up a very welcome bottle of champagne from Showman’s Show organiser Johnny Lance, James said:
“This bottle and this award is shared between the entire team at Boss Cabins. I am so proud of the hard work, belief, ingenuity and tenacity that brought our GenFree concept to life. We are delighted at the huge impact it is having on the carbon footprint of the construction, events and infrastructure industries, anywhere off-grid temporary accommodation is needed.”
